Affiliate Disclosure

How we earn commissions, what we earn, which registrars are affiliate partners, and why none of it affects how we rank prices.

Full Disclosure

DomAvail participates in affiliate marketing programs with domain registrars. This means we earn commissions when you click our links and purchase domains or services.

We believe in complete transparency. This page explains our affiliate relationships, how they work, and our commitment to unbiased recommendations.

Understanding Affiliate Links

What Are Affiliate Links?

Affiliate links are special tracking URLs that allow registrars to know when a customer comes from our website. When you make a purchase through these links, we receive a commission.

Example

If you search for 'example.com' on DomAvail, find it available at Namecheap for $8.88, click our link, and complete the purchase β€” we earn a commission (typically 10–35% depending on the registrar, paid by the registrar from their revenueβ€”the price you pay is identical either way).

Process

How It Works

1

You Search Domains

Use our domain search tools to find available domains and compare prices across multiple registrars.

2

We Show You Prices

You see real-time pricing from multiple registrars, ranked by total cost (registration + renewal).

3

You Click a Link

When you click a 'Register Domain' button, you're redirected to the registrar's website via our affiliate link.

4

We Earn Commission

If you complete a purchase, the registrar pays us a commission. This costs you nothing extra - the price is the same whether you use our link or not.

Our Promise

Our Commitment to You

Prices Are Never Inflated

Affiliate links don't change the price you pay. The price is identical to what you'd pay by going directly to the registrar.

Rankings Are Not Influenced

A registrar paying us a higher commission rate doesn't rank higher than one paying lessβ€”we sort by 3-year total cost, period.

We Show Renewal Prices

Unlike most comparison sites, we prominently display renewal prices - even though it might discourage purchases from high-renewal registrars who pay better commissions.

We Clearly Label Affiliate Links

Buttons that lead to affiliate-linked registrars are tagged with an 'Affiliate' label on every search results card. Hover or focus the label to see the disclosure tooltip.

Our Partners

Our Affiliate Partners

DomAvail compares pricing from 6 registrars: Dynadot, GoDaddy, Name.com, Namecheap, Porkbun, and Spaceship. We participate in affiliate programs with some (not all) of them. Affiliate-linked buttons are clearly marked on the search results page. The 3-year total costβ€”not affiliate statusβ€”drives ranking.

Business Model

Why We Use Affiliate Marketing

Operating DomAvail requires significant resources - servers, APIs, development, and maintenance. Affiliate commissions allow us to provide our comparison service completely free to users.

We believe this model aligns our interests with yours: we succeed when you find the best domain deals, which keeps you coming back to our site.

Legal Compliance

FTC Compliance

This disclosure complies with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guidelines (16 CFR Part 255). We are required by law to disclose material connections between us and the companies we recommend.

Still Have Questions?
